Claire Darmé took part to the workshop organised on May 24 2023 at the IRTESS (Superior Regional Institute for Educational and Social Work) in Dijon, on the theme “The European Union, the migratory policy and the migratory crises”. Discussing the political interplays and ambitions for the European policy on asylum and migration, Claire Darmé was able to contribute to fruitful discussions with OFPRA (the French Protection Office for Refugees and Stateless Persons), scholars and social workers from Italy, Spain or Germany. Between political discussions and everyday enforcement, and while taking a closer look at the individual level, this workshop dealt with fundamental questions of the asylum and migratory policies in Europe such as human dignity, economic challenges, administrative burden and the role of social workers.
